Willi-Hans Steeb - Problems in Theoretical Physics. Volume II: Advanced Problems
Published: 1990 | ISBN: 3411146117 | PDF | 308 pages | 17 MB
The purpose of this book is to supply a collection of problems which will prove to be valuable to students 88 well 88 to research workers in the fields of mathematics, physics, engineering and other sciences. The topics range from elementary to advanced. Almost all problems are solved in detail and most of the problems are self-contained. Students can learn important principles and strategies required for problem solving. Teachers will also find this text useful as a supplement, since important concepts are developed in the problems. The material was tested in my lectures given around'the world.
The book is divided into two volumes. Volume I presents the introductory problems for undergraduate and advanced undergraduate students. In volume II the more advanced problems are collected which are well suited for graduate students and researchers. Problems included cover most of the new fields in theoretical physics and applied mathematics such as Lax representation, solitons, chaos, fractals, Bethe ansatz, etc.. In the reference some other problem books are listed. Some of the problems given in volume I can be found in these books.
