This book pulled me in from the very beginning and held me to the end.I haven't read any other books by this author this book was a "new to the library" choice printed in my local paper. It was so interesting to read about the extreme taxation and repression of trade by the English, both the king of England and his appointed governors in the colonies. Reading about history as lived by people made what happened more real than facts and dates in a history text. I'm grateful to have experienced history in this way.
