Emma is written by Jane Austen and adapted for television by Sandy
Welch. Emma lives in the town of Highbury, where she acts as a match-
maker for friends and acquaintances as she attempts to pair them off.
Not all of her efforts are a success though.

Episode 02

Emma continues to try and pair Harriet up with Mr Elton, the local
vicar. Frank Churchill intrigues Emma and she looks forward to meeting
for the first time at a village Christmas party. When Frank fails to
show up she ends up getting the unwelcome attention of Mr Elton. Jane
Fairfax becomes the focus of local gossip after arriving in town.
