I have been studying jiu-jitsu for over 36 years and during that time I have seen it rise from obscurity to great prominence in the Martial Arts. When I first began my training, there were only a handful of jiu-jitsu students in my hometown of Alexandria, LA, and even after 5 years when I left for college there were still only a handful. I started the first jiu-jitsu club at LSU and it grew to about 40 students before I left. Then I moved around LA, and Texas and started a few schools and trained a few hundred students. I was the first jiu-jitsu teacher in Dallas, TX.
