I bring to your attention a very interesting historical work. Its author is the English traveler Maria Guthrie. Actually, the work is a letter addressed to her husband Matthew Guthrie. True, they are very informative. One gets the impression that they were not written in the inns of the South of Russia, but in the office of the addressee himself, by the way, a prominent scientist. Here we accept the conclusions of N.I. Khrapunov. But that's exactly what they are interesting for. The information we learned from this book, in particular, about the Farnac II coinage, allow us to hope that it will be in demand by all those interested in the history of the Black Sea region.
