This novel has so many plot holes full of factual and technical errors,
you could drive a fleet of Semi Trucks through them.

Even a layperson familiar with EMP warfare and EMP effects could rip
this to shreds, and a professional could lay it to waste, never to raise
its head again.

And why Mr Gingrich - aka I, of Newt (Diemictylus viridescens aka
the Smooth Newt; skin very poisonous, so avoided by predators) - wrote
the forward is simple: he has co-authored at least eight alternate-
history fiction books with Mr Fortschen. It most certainly is not because
he is qualified or has any expertise in this technical area in any way.

Pardon the mini-rant, but as a writer and journalist, facts are of
the utmost importance to me - personally, professionally and ethically -
and I disapprove of any obfuscation in these matters.

With that said, this novel is still a good read/listen, and is a very
good cautionary tale.
