Avid released an update 11.0.2 for Avid DS, the latest version of the company’s do-it-all finishing app. Some may still recall its earlier name: Avid DS Nitris.
Avid DS is a full-featured editing, graphics creation, color correction, and compositing solution, and is the absolute best conforming tool for Media Composer and Symphony to create and deliver high-end content. Save time and money by keeping all editing and finishing in house. Choose the low cost software-only version to use with your existing hardware, or the complete Avid DS System—a hardware/software bundle that comes with everything you need to capture, edit, monitor, create, and conform high-end content.
This 11.0.2 update includes this enhancement:
Artist Color
- Added Visual Indicator for the surface Balls, Wheels, and Knobs sensitivity.
This 11.0.2 update corrects the following problems:
Artist Color
- Surface layout files for Timewarp effects (General Tab) freezes the application.
- Fix "vortex" in the middle of the color wheels.
Conform
- Timewarp effects do not conform properly from Media Composer sequences.
- Timeline tracks disappear after an EDL Conform with "Create Linked clips" and "Create TL Clips" options selected.
Data Management
- Temporary filter turns green even when no Color Correction settings are modified.
- REDColor3 and REDGamma3 have no effects.
- Application failure when starting and stopping playback of audio clips in source timeline on the HP xw8600 system.
- Some XDCam transcoded media does not relink.
- Image artifacts when importing DNxHD QuickTime files.
- Output levels are wrong when exporting from an unprocessed sequence.
- DNxHD QuickTime outputs with high video levels (fixed with updated Avid Codec).
Various
- AJA LHe monitoring requires a different AJA driver than the Kona 3 and 3G.
- AVX2 plug-in - Image request handling and interruption issues.
- DS Archive Backup does not save preferences in the proper Windows Users location.
