Iran is one of the most ancient states in the world. The first proto-Iranian state of Elam originated in Khuzestan in the 3rd millennium BC. e. Persian Empire under Darius I Achaemenide stretched already from Greece and Cyrenaica to the Indus River. Occupying the central regions of Eurasia, Iran made contacts with civilizational centers from China to Central Europe. The Iranians were great mediators between the West and the East and connected the heritage of the Hellenistic world and Asia, and the development of Iranians took place in the orbit of Chinese culture-it is enough to note the very strong Chinese influence , Preserved here until the XVIII century.
