The National Instruments ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit extends LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Microsoft C/C++ development environments to support measurement and calibration applications for the design and validation of electronic control units (ECUs). The ECUM&C toolkit provides high-level, easy to use functions based on the CAN Calibration Protocol (CCP) that ECU designers, testers, and engineers can use to build their own customized measurement and calibration applications.
ECUs interact with external sensors, actuators, and other ECUs on the Controller Area Network (CAN). During ECU development and verification phases, you need to have access to the data the ECU acquires for measurements and to adjust algorithm parameters inside the ECU for calibration. Because the number of identifiers and the bandwidth of CAN is limited, the Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems (ASAM) has specified the CCP to access ECU measurement and calibration data.
