The purpose of the International Society for the Study of Time (ISST) is to encourage the study of time along all lines of scientific and humanistic inquiry which its members see as appropriate. In accordance with the Society's Constitution, this object is achieved mainly by the organization of cqnferences where scholars and scientists may discuss their time-related work in the company of specialists from other fields.
With the appearance of this volume, the Society will have published over one-hundred selected and refereed papers from its four conferences, amounting to some 2200 printed pages.
