What is Yoga Shadow
Shadow Yoga - this is not a new "brand" of yoga. This is one of the approaches to the study of Hatha Yoga , which considers the constraints ( blocking , habits ) of the physical body like the layers of frozen shadows (for details , see the shadows Shiva Svarodaya Ashtanga hrdaye , Charaka Samhita , and so on. ) . Through exercises in a consistent way the body gets rid of these restrictions , and the mind is freed from the layers of conditioned existence .
Regular exercise in the sequence leads to changes in tissue elasticity and stability of the body , develops uninterruptible breath and leads to understanding rhythmic currents of the internal motion of vitality.
The system of Yoga Shadow (see details www.shadowyoga.com) lie the ancient texts of Hatha Yoga , which states that the base sequences forms should be drawn up so as to gradually develop into a practice of " free style " . Free style - a necessary step in the development of quality and longevity , if possible, of enlightenment , that is practical ability to implement the necessary steps at the right time in the right place and the right quantity.
Shadow Yoga - a sophisticated and powerful system of individual training and human development , which has the purpose of development of the various layers ( shadow ) of the human body . Layers are described in the texts of yoga as a gross physical energy (power ) , mental- emotional, intellectual body and the body of bliss. Under stress and unconscious habits these layers " clogged " and impede the free flow of life force , just as the shadow obscures the light of the sun . Purpose of Yoga - dissolve this "junk" to free movement and optimize vitality.
Shadow Yoga school uniforms :
Bala Crum ( Set Force ) - the fundamental (ie , lay the foundation ) practice .
Chaiya Yod'a Sanchalanam ( Shaking Shadow Warrior ) .
Kartikkeyya Mandala ( Circulation ( Garland ) Light) - thin breathing process by spiral movements of the body .
Kundalangihara
The first three sequences - a combination of various combat sequences ( viramparampara ) and worshiping the sun ( Suryanamaskar ) . They serve as a prelude to the asana- vinyasa ( elementary , intermediate, and advanced sequences of asanas and kontrpozitsy ) . For preludes asana vinyasa followed completion - inverted asanas protruding conductors to practice pranayama and other internal practices , such as dhyana . The structure of these actions reflect the quintessential form of Gayatri mantra, consisting of preludes , mantras and conclusions ( vyahtri , gayatri and Shirasu ) . Kundalangihara fourth - form prelude - is arranged in sequential order rocking twists , squats , lifts and twisting. She studied in conjunction with kontrpozitsiyami in a sitting position and the first steps in chalani shakti mudra - respectively selected for cultivation shakti (internal energy ) basic pranayama ( ujjayi , surya bedha , bhastrika and Sheetal ) . Advances in shakti chalani achieved through careful development of the first three stages for twelve years . To master these forms , the practitioner has to master mayurasanu , pashchimottanasanu , padmasana or Ardha Padmasana ( half lotus ) , and three Siddhasana bandha .
Shadow Yoga is based on the principles and practices common to hatha yoga and internal martial arts . Yoga uses the principles of Shadows marmasthany (the science of 108 vital points of the body ) to achieve an acceptable combination of postures and rhythmic movements in order to achieve the smooth movement of the breath.
At the initial stage itself "practice" consists of the gradual development of the five sequences of movements ( two " preliminary " and three " Preludes " ) . Power rack- work used for the awakening of the legs , which in turn is integrated with spiral-shaped and circular movements to revitalize energy transition hip , torso and spine . These actions combined with rhythmic breathing and abdominal closure ( uddiyana gang ) to the cultivation of inner strength and digestive fire . This process is the basis, the foundation Hatta yoga and is a catalyst for healing and transformation of the human body on many levels.
After development , the sequences of movements are used as preparation of the necessary internal conditions for the practice of asanas / vinyasa , which is offered in accordance with the mentor needs student
Shadow Yoga system developed successfully applies and teaches Shandor Remete (NATANAGA ZHANDER). He is studying yoga since childhood . His areas of research include Siddhi medicine marmastaana system , Ayurveda and its relationship with yoga and qigong , as well as a system of dance training and barattanatya kattakali , ie reintegration system that originate from a single source.

Shandor Remete
Born in Hungary, in a family where both parents are practicing yoga . Father was his first teacher of asana , pranayama and bandhas , which over the years have remained a key part of his style. In addition to hatha yoga Sandor mastered Far Eastern martial arts ( Kenjutsu - the Japanese art of sword and Chinese shaolintsuan ) , with their inherent "internal" complexes with energy. In 60 years, the family emigrated to Australia , and then Sandor contract with the United States was drafted and sent directly to Vietnam. Returning from the war , he found "Yoga Deepika " BKS Iyengar and resumed his yoga on this book . After some time the young " Vietnam veteran " was surprised to learn that the author is performing all these fantastic postures , still alive and well, and teaches at in India. Twenty-five Sandor is immediately sent to the " Lion of Pune " and becomes his disciple , continuing to improve practice under Iyengar over the next ten years. Delving into the heritage of Krishnamacharya , he starts practicing ashtanga vinyasa yoga, studying with one of the Indian students Pattabhi Jois . As he says Sandor , the formation of his style was influenced by the tradition of Iyengar , Krishnamacharya and art Kenjutsu , which focuses on the development of the " hara " - the energy center located at the navel . At the same center affects Oddiyana bandha , working out which Sandor attaches particular importance. Style Sandor "Yoga Shadows » (Shadow Yoga) includes four levels , on the ground (" pratigna Krama " - research) studied the basic sequence of asanas , including elements of qigong , the second (" mandala Krama " study circulation of prana ) - basic asanas and construction variations and bandhas and mudras ( Mahabandha , Mahavedha and Mahamudra ) , the third level (" shakti Krama " ) is dedicated to the accumulation and concentration of prana , and includes the development of complex asanas that give great inner strength , as well as exploring marmas - " energy hubs " in the body, nadis - energy channels , rhythmic breathing and the interaction of all these elements. The fourth level - (" vadzhramukti "), aims to create "diamond body" vadzhrakayi , and is a free style, in which " the practitioner knows what to do , when and where to do it , how to do and when to stop . Vadzhrakayi practice taught in a smooth manner , when one asana flows to follow , as well as the shadow smoothly , without hesitation , moving from one surface to the other . " At this level of study mantras and their use in conjunction with asanas and pranayama .
Sandor attaches great importance to reading traditional texts of yoga , such as Yoga Sutras , Hatha Yoga Pradipika , Gheranda and Vasishta Samhita , etc. , trying to clarify in the minds of Western students that yoga is designed not just to " achieve a good quiet life " as well as a way to cleanse themselves and self-realization, that can not always be comfortable and satisfy our ego. School Iyengar felt in many ways - a lot of attention to the awareness of the whole body during asanas , to the difference between a "sport" posture , and yoga asana in which there is no tension in the wrong place and not disturbed energy flow in the body. Apparently the years spent in the East, gave teaching style Sandor some eccentricity . Sometimes it may be a few standing poses, " stretched " in the spirit of the late Iyengar all occupation, sometimes - 40 or more Suryanamaskar of Ashtanga without stopping. If impatient student asks how to achieve perfection in asanas , the answer may be : "Eat rice and do standing postures for 10 years - and all will be OK ." At one of the seminars troubled American woman , all the time with something Dissent and ask a lot of questions , Sandor under the pretext failed to show something to the wall, hung upside down on ropes ayengarovskih , put on a blindfold for shavasana , after which he returned to the disciples and continued the conversation . Currently Sandor lives in Australia , although very active travels around the world , a few times with seminars in Russia and Ukraine.

STYLE OF PRACTICE: YOGA SCHOOLS SHADOWS
The name " Yoga Shadows" is taken from the second chapter of the ancient tantric treatise - " Shiva Svarodaya " (birth breath of life - the revelation of Lord Shiva ) . In this chapter , called " Yoga Shadow Man " , dealt with complex manifestations of shadows and their implications, both inside and outside the human body . Founding Ayurvedic text " Ashtanga Hridaya " Vagbhaty also contains a chapter on the shade, which sets out the principles of diagnosis .
There is also a tradition of Allama Prabhudeve - the first guru Gorakhnath ( one of the famous founders of Hatha Yoga ), in which he described the human body is nothing but a layering frozen shadows. In accordance with the anatomy of Hatha Yoga body itself consists of three separate bodies and five sheaths ( covers, or shadows) . Dissolution of these shadows - Target Practice of Hatha Yoga .
Education in the School of Shadows is based on the ancient texts on Hatha Yoga , which state that all fixed forms should be constructed so as to develop the practice of freestyle . Freestyle is a necessary step in the cultivation of longevity and attaining enlightenment . Texts also say that the prescribed forms must include the following postures and movements for the proper development of life-breath :
standing
Browsing
Lying ( face up, down , sideways )
side
overturned
Curved / twisted
Squat
balances
bend over
backbends
turbinal
These twelve postures and movements were extracted from a range of human activities, including martial arts, dance and crafts, as well as flora and fauna . Appropriate combination of these activities with a certain rhythm and positions of the body causes the manifestation of internal forces latent in every human being .
Four fixed forms of Yoga Shadows use fundamental principles Marmasthany ( Indian doctrine of the 108 compounds vital body ) to achieve an appropriate mix of postures and rhythmic movements , thereby acquiring a steady flow of breathing :
PREPARATION - BALAKRAMA
OPENING SHADE - TEA VIVARANAM
MOVEMENT ( SHAKE ) SHADE - TEA SANCHALANAM
Circulation SHADOWS - TEA MANDALA
The above four forms are a combination of different forms of the Warrior ( viraparampara ) and sun ( Suryanamaskar ) that act as preludes to the asanas and vinyasa (preparatory , elementary , intermediate and advanced ) . They form the central form , for which inverted asanas are imprisonment and a connecting bridge to the practice of pranayama and other advanced internal processes, such as dhyana , etc. The method described is based on practices that Gayatri mantra consisting of entry , most of the mantra and the conclusion ( vyahritis Gayatri and sires ) .
2004 - IN LIGHT OF SHADOWS .
Practicing yoga is a process , reverse the deployment life, as the shadow is the latest manifestation of a single point of the light beam (human) . Hatha Yoga provides a gradual return movement on the path of life to its source .
School teaching shadows based on the principles of Hatha Yoga developed Saiva masters of ancient India. According to yoga philosophy physical human body is composed of five layers or shells.
The outer layer ( " great " physical body ) called dark body or body shade. Something like Plato describes in the dialogue "Timaeus " , saying that " the physical body is nothing but a shadow of finer and higher dimensions ."
The aim of curbing shadow (Chaya Samyukta) - development Vadzhrakayi , light body or diamond body, which can endure and overcome any tests . The method of " Taming of the shadows " consists of a clear , consecutively complicated steps. At each stage, a certain logically -based practice is carried out by appropriate means. This eventually leads to the final stage of the student - Vadzhramukti - free style .
This process ( Krama ) is divided into four main stages:
1. PRATIGNA Cram - STUDY ( study).
2 . MANDALA Cram - CIRCULATION prana ( life force) .
3 . Shakti Cram - ACCUMULATION OF FORCE (concentration and preservation of vitality in the body) .
4 . VADZHRAMUKTI - FREE STYLE .
PRATIGNA Cram - consists of three levels :
FIRST LEVEL - study and practice of the seven sequences incorporating the family sitting postures and two balance .
SECOND LEVEL - the study of five bandh : Jiva Oddiyana , Jalandhar , Mula and Mano . Building Dzhatharagni introduction Ashwini Tadagi wise and wise ( wise - certain position or movement of the body or parts of it ) .
THIRD LEVEL - an introduction to the practice of using rhythmic breathing bandh . Yama and Niyama study .
Study Kandasthany - energy manipulation principles operating within the various systems of the body. This includes the study of :
Vayu - 10 streams of vitality in the body.
Nadi - the channels through which energy circulates in the body.
Adhara - 18 supports the body.
MARMASTHANA - 108 vital points of the body .
Prana and DZHATHARAGNI - in their relation to each other .
Vertical and horizontal movements of the body entering into the practice stage Pratigna Krama allow free joints from stiffness , ensuring stability and free circulation of energy flows.
MANDALA Cram - consists of two levels
FIRST LEVEL - the introduction of asanas of primary and secondary level , on which can be built countless other asanas. These postures are executed in a circular pattern , which improves the circulation of fluids , heat, and air.
SECOND LEVEL - Nadi Suddhi cleansing the energy channels . Study Mahamudra Mahabandhi Mahaveda and Mudras .
Shakti Cram - consists of two levels
FIRST LEVEL - band practice complex asanas to build physical strength, power and stability of the circulation of vital force of the body ( pranakayya ) .
SECOND LEVEL - Bodhaka Mudra (movement " awakening " or " awareness" ) .
Vajra mukti - consists of two levels
FIRST LEVEL - Muktaprasava . When dealing with knows what to do , when and where to do it , how to do and when to stop .
This is called freestyle . Vadzhrakayi practice taught in a smooth manner , when one asana flows to follow , as well as the shadow smoothly , without hesitation , moving from one surface to another .
SECOND LEVEL - Vadzhramuktaprasava , free flow of light through the use of mantras in the practice of asanas and pranayama .

Shandor Remete - Rebel Without a rug (Cara Gipson)
People tend to have a strong reaction to a non-standard learning style Shandor Remete . Take for example last year's Southwest Yoga Conference. Some of his fans signed up literally on his every activity . Many who have not registered , tried to get inside , forcing organizers to put a guard on the door .
Others held one session in Sandor - who is known for forcing students to stand on tiptoe until after 30 minutes to work Oddiyana Bandhu - and not out of the pose.
Maybe it's something to do with my bad emotional state at the time, but I am inclined to the second group of people after the first night of the recent three-day workshop at Moksha Yoga Shandor Shala .
This was the first seminar Sandor in Chicago, and this meant that most of us had no idea what to expect. His relationship with yoga stretch in Hungary 1950 , where he was acquainted with the practice ( and bandhas !) His father when he was six years old . The family moved to Australia when Sandor was a young man , and there he was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam at the front . After the war, he discovered the " Light on Yoga " BKS Iyengar and made his way to Pune to study with esteemed teacher. After ten years with Iyengar , he went to Mysore to study Ashtanga a man who spent seven years studying with Pattabhi Jois in the late 1960 's - early 70 -ies.
Sandor also influenced by the life and work of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and Japanese sword skills (which focuses on the " hara " , below the navel , and is remarkably similar to Uddiyana Bandha ) . Sandor , student of yoga for 40 years ( he's 53 ) , is a connoisseur of ancient texts , and spends most of his time teaching worldwide.
The workshop was titled " Harnessing Shadows ." As Sandor explains on its website , " ... the mind is a constant state of wandering , changes its attachment to one thing to another and gradually depletes human vitality . Sadhanga In ( Hatha ) Yoga energy of the mind is forced to go back through the practice of asanas and pranayama . This Taming the Shadow. "
He began by saying that told us to leave our mats and sit around him. He said he likes to start new students with an explanation of his style and definitions of certain terms . He began by saying that yoga is and what is not .
This is not an exercise program , he said after discussions popularity of yoga in the United States and Australia. Yes, and not a religion, but rather a system of self- development . " Patanjali says that there is a God , but it is different for each person. This is an individual the opportunity to everyone - to cultivate religious faith through the practice of yoga. "
During the workshop, he returned again and again to the original texts of yoga, such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the more esoteric Hatha Yoga Pradipika . " All the seeds of yoga should be planted from the beginning, " he said. During the discussion, he challenged our knowledge and asked us to define terms such as " tapas " ( and was repeatedly disappointed by our responses - according to ancient texts tapas is not just " heat" , but " that activity when a person 's body and lifted up " ) .
Later, he recommended us to try to find the three books - "Yoga Vasishta Samhita " (The Yoga Vasishta Samhita), " Yoga Yajnavalkya Samhita " (The Yoga Yagnvalkya Samhita) and " Secrets of Marma " David Frawley (David Frawley's The Secrets of Marma) - and read blocked.
( David Frawley - Ayurvedic specialist , director of the American Institute for the Vedic studies. " Marma " - certain parts of the body , the energy level associated with the joints, muscles , internal organs and emotions, such as acupuncture points in Chinese medicine. Sandor little about them to tell his Moscow seminar - approx. I. Zhuravlev , translator )
Alternately stern and charming , Sandor thawed , smiled and asked us to " be supportive " to him. Looking at someone's water bottle , he asked us to refrain from eating for four hours before class, and do not drink the water two hours before class . He also asked to be patient with him.
" I will teach some simple racks and sitting poses , and then practice the asanas , " he said. " It stands as the use of the alphabet , when the child goes to school . First he learns letters . Then sounds and syllables , and then adds the words that create rhythm and require a long breath . Then they add a short sentence and write a story ."
" You may not notice this in the practice of yoga ."
In other words, we start from the beginning .
Summarizing the questions and answers, he explained that the front is "how to stand in the body by placing the hands and feet " and a way to touch the source of energy within the body . He discussed Ayurveda and five " winds " in the body , and their relationship with Uddiyana bandha . It was all very esoteric , and it was hard for me to follow. " I'm just giving you some ideas , " he said, as if reading my mind . " If you're interested, you should go with his track in search of more information ."
When asked where he learned these pillars , he said: " From the walls of temples and martial arts , " which gave us all food for thought. When asked where he lives , Sandor said, "Out of a suitcase ."
Then it was time for a demonstration . "This is my mat , because I travel ," he said , pointing to the blue bots Japanese design with sticky soles that he stuck to his feet. " They give me a 360 -degree freedom on the floor ," he explained . Then he put some tape on the wrist and biceps, which he said was neutralized energy blocks from the " use of abnormal weights when I was young."
He started with the rotation of the head, followed by the rotation of the shoulders, one Simhasany (lion ) , and other " sedentary " , extended, Prasarita Padotanasanoy , twines , Parivritta Dzhanushirshasanoy and some serious challenge to balancing on the hands. His movements were graceful and looked effortless .
After all, he reminded us that yoga was " not only poses. You still never master all the poses . Learn the basic thing ... develop your intellectual power , make it work for you. "
When he told us to eat a light lunch and something hot to drink , then we woke up.
On Saturday, he presented us Pratyanu (ie, " job avenues of research " ) - or short form. We started sitting on the floor and pushing his thumbs in the abdominal region, " a place of fire " and studying other unusual exercises. We also did the rotation head and shoulders , lifting hands, and were instructed to breathe gently and evenly. Leaving our mats , we got up in rows, we studied the initial sequence of poses , one by one , and repeated them every time added new rack . After explaining and demonstrating each new movement , Sandor could smile , his eyes lit up and he passionately interested in : " Can we try it ? " His enthusiasm was contagious .
Racks included many graceful movements and palms and squatting and directing attention to some subtle areas such as the back of the head. We moved slowly and carefully in the asanas , which are said Sandor , created to remove the stiffness in the joints and stabilize the three doshas .
Sandor said he was working on a book . which contains the experience of 30 years of his research . She was already zakonchina when : "I decided that I wanted it to be nipisana in verse form , to avoid too detailed explanations so that people can interpret it for themselves . "
Sandor told so much, and it was so difficult to treat that the book would be a great help in learning. Unfortunately I came down with a cold disgusting (which I attribute to the detoxifying nature of Saturday asanas) and did not return to the last session on Sunday, where he added more poses and focused on Oddiyana bandh . My illness has given me plenty of time to reflect on what he was trying to teach us , and I realized how stupid I can be and how much I still have to learn . But I am sure of one thing: if Sandor returns to Chicago ( despite the fact that he can see this article ) , I really can even become a man of the first group - the fans that are placed on each lesson .

The name Shadow Yoga is derived from the 6th chapter of the ancient tantrika treatise ‘The Shiva-Svarodaya’ (the birth of the breath of life revealed by the god Shiva). This chapter, entitled ‘Yoga of the Shadow Man’, deals with the intricate manifestations of the shadow and their significance both inside and outside the human organism.
The Ashtanga Hrdaya of Vagbhata, a primary ayurvedic text, also contains a chapter on the shadow which deals with diagnostic principles. There is also a story about Allama Prabhudeva, the initiating guru of Gorakshanath (one of the famous forefathers of Hatha Yoga), in which he describes the human body as nothing but layers of frozen shadows. According to Hatha Yogic anatomy the body is composed of three discrete bodies and five sheaths, (coverings or shadows). The practice of Hatha Yoga has evolved with the purpose of dissolving these shadows.
The teaching of the Shadow School is based upon the ancient Hatha Yogic texts, which state that all fixed forms should be designed to develop the practice of freestyle. Freestyle is a necessary step in the cultivation of longevity and enlightenment. The texts also suggest that the set forms should contain within them the following bodily positions and movements for the proper development of the vital breath.
- Standing • Pumping
- Sitting • Weighing
- Lying (face-down, face-up, on-sides) • Forwards
- Sideways (lateral) • Backwards
- Inversions • Spiral
- Turning - twisting
These twelve kinds of positions and movements have been adapted from the range of human activities including martial arts, dance and crafts of life, and from the plant and animal kingdoms. The appropriate combination of these activities with suitable rhythm and positioning brings about the unfolding of the inner powers hidden in the individual.

Nata Yoga is the expression of Lord Shiva's eternal dance, often referred to as the Shiva Tandava or Shiva's vigorous dance
Nata Yoga is the expression of Lord Shiva's eternal dance, often referred to as the Shiva Tandava or Shiva's vigorous dance which is the source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution.
According to the Puranas, Shiva dances a wild and vigorous (tandava) dance in the cremation grounds at night but dances a soft and graceful (lasya) dance in the tranquillity of the twilight. The nata Shastra of Bharata Muni is referred to as the fifth veda. The fourth chapter is titled ‘The Characteristics of the Tandava dance’. At the beginning of this chapter Lord Shiva declares:
‘I have conceived a dance since I am fond of dancing every evening. It is embellished with different karanas and angaharas.’
He goes on to describe the 108 karanas and the 32 angaharas - the composite parts of the dance - and then states:
‘... the aforementioned 108 karanas enumerated by me may be employed in the course of dance, fight, personal combats and in other special movements like strolling.’
In this reference to “special” strolling there is a hidden confirmation of the existence of soft martial arts - like tai chi and chi gong in ancient India. These practices have always been utilized in the building of inner power through natural and unimposed movements; these serve to prepare the practitioner for the seated meditative practices (asanas).
