The issue of abortion could easily be the most hotly debated topic of the previous century. Prior to the 1970s all elective abortions in America were illegal, a fact that did not stop many women from seeking to have one. In the early 1970s, after hearing the now famous Roe v. Wade case, the Supreme Court declared laws preventing early-term abortions unconstitutional in the United States for the first time.
