Im wesentlichen handelt es sich um einen Abriß der Stadtgeschichte, der schon 1931 anläßlich der 700 Jahr Feier verfaßt wurde. 1985 wurde der Text gekürzt und überarbeitet und durch historische Fotographien ergänzt.
