This is one of those books that are really hard to review. Not only is it the last book in one of my favorite series, it's also one of those books that grabs a hold of your emotions and you just can't put into words the "feels" you get while reading it. So here goes nothing... Maddox Locke is a mystery. We have been getting glimpses of his story throughout the entire series but never enough to get an idea of what's really behind the man who always has advise for his friends and is, to a point, the one that always helps those around him see reason. Nothing could have prepared me for the complexity that is the character of Maddox Locke.

We get a lot of his back story from the beginning of the book, and every single piece of information from his past broke my heart for him a little more. His pain was raw, and I could feel every single emotion through the pages. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to write this book. Then we have Emmy. Boy I was not prepared for her story. She had a difficult upbringing and her life before coming to Corps Security is what nightmares are made of.

These two have been through so much. You can't help but cheer for them and their HEA. But life is not easy, and they have to fight for each other even if that means fighting each other. What will the future bring for these lovers?? Can they overcome their tragic pasts?? Will Maddox finally realize what's been staring at him for years and fight for what is his?? I guess you'll have to read to find out...
