First 4 DVD of the series dedicated to the endgame sheds light on the theoretical end, systematically organized the distribution of material, starting with pawn endings and passing to issues such as a pair of elephants and double rook endings. Now it is the turn to the fundamental principles of the endgame, which in this fifth DVD consist of activity, initiative, mating and proper exchange.
Activity especially important when we consider the role of kings in the endgame because then they leave their shields pawns and take an active part in the game. Another important topic - is the activity of the rook and it is not uncommon in the final sacrifice a pawn to gain the initiative. Chapter explains the initiative, such as the end of the rook + knight against rook and knight, because none of these figures is not suitable for a passive role, and even get an easy lead may be enough to win.
In the endgame mat should always be in your thoughts. For example consider the mat stemmata and matte attack rook endings in the 4th stage of the game. The right choice for the exchange of figures, of course, always plays an important role, but in general, the price of each wrong step increases in the endgame. What to watch out for will be explained in detail in this DVD.
