I absolutely loved this book! In this book, Cari did a wonderful danced between dubious consent and non-consent, both of them happening sometimes within the same scene. After the surprise twist with Pieter and Jazmine in book 3, I was excited to see more of them in this book. Watching the strong, wily Pieter watch for a chance to rescue both himself and Jazmine from the horrible Gregor was amazing. Gregor and the mysterious "client" brought wonderfully terrifying darkness to the story; Gregor was the ultimate remorseless bad guy. Once Pieter was brought to Jazmine's sell to tend her wounds, the dominance he brought to the book had me squirming in my seat- such hotness! The cyclone scenes were captivating. When the rescue from Pieter's friends came during some of Gregor's worst cruelty, I was surprised to find so much of the book left according to my Kindle- if this wasn't the climax of the book, I couldn't imagine what more Cari was going to put the characters and we readers through. But with Glass' help, to see Pieter go further with the dubious consent with Jazmine increased the heat factor of this intense novel. In this section of the book, I even more enjoyed and appreciated the chapters written in Jazmine's perspective, her thoughts as Pieter's dominance really impacted on her. The revelation- to Pieter and friends- of her really being a freelance journalist, not a librarian as she claimed, was devastating. The end, Jazmine walking out the door when allowed, but not being able to leave him, was such a wonderfully romantic moment for me.
