What Alan Dershowitz' book TERROR TUNNELS does is pull together the various strands of history, law and politics that one needs in order to penetrate the muck that has obfuscated, indeed buried, the salient facts about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the modern era. Dershowitz takes on the shameless propaganda that has dressed itself up as legitimate argument. Like the lawyer that he is, he takes on the propagandists' arguments and strips them naked before the jury. The jury that's us, the readers. Unfortunately, not enough of the jurors are likely to read Dershowitz's powerful arguments. Hopefully the availability of this book in inexpensive electronic format will increase the readership of these trenchant essays, because, for the sake of the preservation of civilization as we know it, this book should be widely read. Facts, it has been said, are stubborn things. But even stubborn things do not sell themselves without the assistance of stubborn fact-tells. Dershowitz fits the bill. This is a must-read book.
