Making His Move starts off quickly with the "friends to lovers" element. Sophie and Chris met through their jobs at the same workplace, and have friendly chats over coffee. Sophie is motivated to finally act further on her attraction to Chris by her good friend Nat and a cookie fortune proclaiming "today is the day to take what you want." I think Sophie is like an ideal friend: caring, smart, and as beautiful inside as she is outside. Chris is a straightforward, self-assured and all-around impressive man who also excels at talking (the in-bed, heated kind of talking)! Chris is equally attracted to Sophie, and he's been waiting for an opportunity to let her know where he really wants their relationship to go. When the moment does happen, it allows Sophie and Chris to be honest and open with each other. It quickly becomes clear their emotional and physical connection is primal and essential to their daily wellbeing. I love Rhyannon's stories for her characters who don't play games, and instead express their want and need of each other in the most romantic and steamy ways! When one of them is running scared from all the new feelings, the other shows determination and commitment to communicate through the fears to make it work. More than talking likely required.
