Black Coke is an action-packed heart-pounding inside look at drug cartels and government corruption. The characters are tough, duplicitous, and seemingly without mercy. I especially enjoyed the female assassin: decidedly un-beautiful, cunning and cruel but not intelligent, and so loaded up on steroids that she has lost any femininity (except for her secret fantasies). However, I don't know what actress would want to portray such a nasty, ugly character in a movie. The two lead "heroes" lived happily ever after, of course, but the reader wants them to, after all the heartache and trouble they went through.
A very enjoyable read, not a literary giant, but definite escapism.
