FEMLAB is an interactive environment for modeling and simulating scientific and engineering problems based on partial differential equations (PDEs)—equations that are the fundamental basis for the laws of science.
FEMLAB's multiphysics feature allows you to simultaneously model any combination of phenomena. There are two available ways of modeling: ready-to-use applications, which allow you to model simply by defining the relevant physical quantities rather than the equations directly, and equation-based modeling, which gives you the freedom to create your own equations. Using multiphysics, you can combine both.
FEMLAB's graphical user interface includes functions for CAD modeling, physics or equation definitions, automatic mesh generation, equation solving, visualization, and postprocessing. You can load or save your model as a script program and extend it using FEMLAB's programming language, an extension of the MATLAB language.
The combination of an easy-to-use graphical user interface and programming capabilities makes FEMLAB an unprecedented package for multiphysics simulation.
