Hannah Pittard "Reunion: A Novel"

Before Kate Pulaski's flight takes off, she checks her messages and learns that her father has committed suicide. Estranged from her father, she is shocked and confused, but otherwise not upset. She very reluctantly agrees to join her siblings in attending his funeral. Over the course of the next four days, she is forced to contend with her father's many ex-wives and their offspring. As each person's secrets begin to be revealed, she learns that things are not always as they seem and that it is time she confront her own deceitful ways once and for all. I found Reunion by Hannah Pittard to be a very interesting read. The emotion of grief is heavily and realistically felt. Kate's family is a veritable train wreck and none of the characters are overly likeable. Despite this, I found the book difficult to put down. While I wouldn't call it a pleasant read, it certainly was a quick, entertaining one.
