In this tutorial, I cover the production and lighting techniques used to bring to life National Geographic Channel's "Killing Lincoln" advertisements. On this particular assignment, my job as a photographer was to study rough conceptual sketches and translate them into engaging photographs with light, shadow, composition, and expression. I dissect and explain the lighting techniques used in each key photograph step by step. Using toy bobble-heads and miniature lights, my goal was to shrink an otherwise overwhelming setup into bite-sized explanations.
