English art historian, Januszczak Waldemar (Waldemar Januszczak) the BBC has carried out an interesting project about the Impressionists, consisting of 4 movies.
Film 1: "the Gang of four". Here he explores the history of the key figures of the originators of impressionism – Pissarro, Monet, Renoir, and Basil. Is an excellent opportunity to wander along with the author of numerous museums, the streets and lanes of Paris and also to travel to other cities and towns where they lived, studied and created the artists-revolutionaries.
In the second film "open air" talks in detail about the new phenomenon in the history of painting – the painting of pictures not in the Studio and outdoors. Together with the author of the movie we fast forward in virtual time and space and find yourself there where we could see the scenery of the famous impressionist paintings and where they sketched their designs.
Film 3 – "Picture people". In the second film we saw nature, observed and captured in a new way. But for the Impressionists, it was also important to stay inside and watch people, like to go out for plein air and watch the scenery. Like other portrait painters of his time, it was interesting not only how people look but also their inner world.
In the fourth film - "the final touch" we find out how impressionism was over and what he became, and will become participants in optical experiments sitting directly in front of your monitor.
