EFICAD has released update of Swood 2015, the solution for woodworking into SolidWorks. With SOLIDWORKS and SWOOD, you get an intuitive 3D CAD system that combines ease-of-use with powerful modeling capabilities while covering the wood industry needs.
EFICAD is a French software editor invested in CAD CAM solutions for wood industry for more than 25 years. Initially based on a well-known 2D platform, EFICAD decided to move its woodworking knowledge to a 3D modeler and has made the choice of SOLIDWORKS the most intuitive and ease-of-use platform. The integration of EFICAD’s experience into SOLIDWORKS resulted in SWOOD Design, CAM and Nesting.
With SOLIDWORKS and SWOOD, you get an intuitive 3D CAD system that combines ease-of-use with powerful modeling capabilities while covering the wood industry needs. SWOOD Design helps to design faster introducing shortcuts for connectors, edge-banding and materials management. It also brings a customizable library of components that can adapt a box environment, a unique feature called “SWOOD Box” useful for shelves, drawers and doors insertion by drag and drop. SWOOD CAM, for its part, deal with the production documents and CNC programs. SWOOD CAM is thought to manage natively the woodworking routers technologies. For instance, it can manage and encode worktable but also generate trajectories up to 5 axis or optimize drillings using a multi-spindle head. Its unique integration inside SOLIDWORKS allows SWOOD CAM programs definition to be fully associative with 3D models and directly embedded into SOLIDWORKS files. Nesting is also available into SOLIDWORKS and is directly based on 3D parts. Because of our long experience and collaboration with the different CNC brand, a lot of post-processors have already been developed. 4 years only after its international introduction, SWOOD has convinced end-users in more than 20 countries.
