At the NAMM show, Celemony Software is presenting for the first time
the audio editing software Melodyne uno for Windows and Mac OS X. This
smaller version of Melodyne operates like a sample editor, only with
the swift and powerful functions characteristic of Melodyne, making it
useful for pitch correction, vocal production and the editing of
melodies. With the Melodyne audio editing functions on board, Melodyne
uno affords the same novel and creative access to mono audio data as
its larger stablemates.
There are no arrange levels to worry about, and complex processes such
as note recognition operate smoothly in the background out of sight of
the user. Like a sample editor, it permits editing of the pitch, tempo,
phrasing, formants and timing of monophonic audio files in a direct
and uncomplicated manner. What's more, these parameters can be varied
over a wide range. Melodyne uno is designed to respond to your input
in a highly musical way - preserving the original phrasing (including
the vibrato) for example, when performing corrections in pitch.
Melodyne uno displays the analyzed audiodata as a series of notes and
also outputs the pitch, note lengths and phrasing in the form of MIDI
data, making totally new and highly interesting combinations of audio
file and synthesizer sound possible.
