Just as Rickenbacker guitars are famous for their singular
sound, Ric basses have become just as sought after for their
unmistakable individuality. We sampled this Rickenbacker
model 4003 black beauty in 2 different configurations;
direct and played finger-style for a very 'McCartney-esque'
tone and using the Ric's stereo jack to send the bridge and
neck pickups through an Ampeg bass cab and a Joe Meek tube
compressor, respectively.
The resulting picked tone is thick and meaty in the lower
register while still retaining a characteristic punch up top.
This flexible combination of feel and sound will give you a
beefy arsenal of Ric bass tone that works wonders in a
variety of musical applications.
