Autodesk Moldflow has set the industry standards for simulation software for decades, covering all areas of the Mold Injection Process.
Autodesk Simulation Moldflow software provides fast, accurate, and flexible plastic injection molding simulation tools to help CAE analysts, designers, and engineers validate and optimize plastic parts, injection molds, and the injection molding process.
With access to over 9,200 grades of commercial plastics and accurate material data, manufacturers can evaluate various material options. Autodesk Simulation Moldflow supports direct data exchange with most CAD software tools. Moldflow's calculated structural properties can improve the accuracy of structural analysis products including Autodesk Simulation Mechanical.
Companies worldwide use Autodesk Simulation Moldflow to make great products by reducing the need for costly physical prototypes, avoiding potential manufacturing defects, and getting innovative products to market faster.
New Features for 2017.3
The following features are new with this release:
- Powder injection molding process
A new molding process, Powder injection molding (PIM), has been added to simulate powder segregation, and thereby predict black lines which can appear when the powder concentration is low.
- Duplicating study improvement
Duplicate studies has been enhanced so you can customize what to include when you duplicate studies.
- Valve gate controller dialog improvement
You can now see at a glance all settings of the valve gate controllers. Your interaction with the dialog has also been improved.
Solver Enhancements for 2017.3
Enhancements have been implemented to improve the performance of analysis solvers.
- 3D residual stress model as default for the 3D warpage
The 3D residual stress model was an option in 2017 R2. With the 2017.3 release, this model is now the default.
- Mesh aggregation support for the 3D residual stress model
The mesh aggregation option for calculating warp, which transforms the original mesh into a coarser one, is now supported for the 3D residual stress model.
- Thermoset support for the 3D residual stress model
The 3D residual stress model is now supported for the thermoset materials.
