The journal Lucifer (Lucifer, Latin "Bearer of Light") is a theosophical journal published in London from September 1887 to 1897 (hereafter it was renamed The Theosophical Review)
The journal was published 12 times a year (the volume of each issue was 50-60 pages), covering issues of philosophy, theosophy, science and religion.
The first issue of the magazine opens with the article "What's in a name?" ("What's in a name?"), Explaining the purpose and objectives of the magazine, as well as the meaning and reasons for choosing such a name. (see below)
