In these conversations, recorded between August 2000 and April 2001, Michael first agreed to reveal his soul to the general public. Knowing with what distrust the people treated him, he nevertheless dared to take this decisive step, believing that he could break through human cynicism and bias.
During Michael's lifetime, these conversations were never published, and, ironically, only now that he is gone, we have the opportunity to explore the anatomy of the soul of a genius man and look into his amazing inner world. The world, very different from that of the average inhabitant, and therefore naturally caused eternal perplexity and distorted interpretations, which resulted in such a massive tragedy of public misunderstanding.
In the first book, The Michael Jackson Tapes, Michael shares his views on life, art, professionalism, relationships with the opposite sex and his role in society. The version published here and the translation contain only Michael Jackson's dialogues with Shmuley Botich, author's comments are omitted.
The second book, Honoring the Child Spirit, is devoted almost exclusively to Michael's view of the world of childhood. On these pages he talks about the things most dear to his heart: about childish immediacy and the ability to look at the world with delight and amazement, the origins of his creativity and inspiration, his spirituality and God's perception.
After the departure of Michael, one of his managers recalled his words: "I want people to know what I really am, when I do not become." Maybe now his wish will come true.
