The book of photographs of the famous American musician Tom Waits, made by the Netherlands photographer and director Anton Corbijn, is called "Waits / Corbijn '77 -'11". The book contains more than 220 color and black and white photos taken during more than 30 years of cooperation between these two creative personalities. There are also about 50 pages with previously unreleased photographs taken by Waits himself, including his self-portraits.
The book begins with pictures taken in 1977 in Holland, when Waits was already a famous musician with several recorded albums, and Corbijn was just starting his career and was still unknown to anyone. The preface to the publication was written by director Jim Jarmusch and music critic Robert Kristagau.
"This happens rarely when you photograph someone for more than 30 years," says Corbain. - Our cooperation developed absolutely organically and therefore gave such beautiful results. We were always very serious in our field of activity, but when we worked together, we were like children who did not want to grow up. It's like a liberating and very necessary legal drug. "
