Merleau-Ponty M. Phenomenology of perception / Trans. with frants. Ed. I.S. Vdovinoy, S.L. Fokine. M: "Juventa", "Science", 1999. 608 c

"Phenomenology of perception" is the most famous work of Merlot-Ponty. Of all his works, she made the greatest impression on the philosophy of the next decades: the study of problems of perception E. Husserl by that time had not yet been published and for a long time were known only in the interpretations - Merlot-Ponty, Sartre. (If we compare the Phenomenology of Perception and the Imaginary, Phenomenological Theory of Perception, you can see that each of the French thinkers elaborates on one of the philosophical problems that E. Husserl had in systemic integrity: "perception is fanatizing, imagination is time" "Sartre focuses on the imagination, and Merleau-Ponty on perception).
One of the central ideas of the "Phenomenology of Perception": our perception of the world around us is mediated by our corporeality. The bodily, tactile experience is necessary for the formation of the idea of three-dimensional space, as well as for the primary distinction between "myself" and "the world." Here usually refer to a limited range of examples, taken from Merlot-Ponty, then from Husserl. For example, touching the objects of the world and your own body with your hand (a story that has become as "beaten" as Proust's notorious cake). This idea is used in different ways by modern French philosophy, as well as modern Russian philosophers (compare Podoroga "Phenomenology of the body", pp. 48-55, 121 pp.).
So, the "Phenomenology of Perception" is a continuation of studies, the beginning of which is not known to the Russian reader. Apparently, it was not completely known to the translators, who had difficulty recognizing German borrowings. Knowledgeable people found in this Russian version a lot of "jambs". In view of the value of Merleau-Ponty's work itself, as well as the mentioned difficulties of translation, he decided to distribute the French original (20.7 MB) + translation in English. language (1.55 MB). Take the "kit", you will not regret! The tracker already had the distribution of this work, but in a sloppy version (see here).
This release continues the tradition of multilingual distribution of the most important works of philosophical classics. (See also: "Being and Time" and "Basic Problems of Phenomenology" by M. Heidegger, "Truth and Method" by G.-G. Gadamer, "The Teaching on Science" by B. Bolzano).
