In his book "At the Turn of the Centuries: The Role of America in the Technotronic Era," American political scientist and sociologist Zbigniew Brzezinski predicts the advent of the technotronic era that is completing the industrial era. For a systematic transition to the technotronic era, the author suggests creating an alliance between industrialized capitalist countries: the USA, Western Europe, and Japan. This proposal entailed the creation of a Trilateral Commission, which set a goal to advise the world's leading powers of America, Europe and Asia on world issues. The initiator of the commission was David Rockefeller. In 1972, this initiative was supported at the meeting of the Bilderberg Club, and in 1973 the commission was organized. Zbigniew Brzezinski joined the commission as an executive director, being in office from 1973 to 1976. In this book, considering various problems of transition to the technotronic era, Brzezinski makes very interesting predictions of the future. National states, according to his forecasts, in the next decades (the book was written in 1970) will lose political weight. Also, he predicts the possibility of strengthening control and management over the population with the help of new technologies in the field of electronics and biochemistry. According to Brzezinski, the technotronic era will create a transnational elite, worried about world problems, with its own language of interethnic communication, a unified information environment, a single culture.
