The book begins with a historical presentation and general arguments about Cyprus and Byzantine art. The main part, dedicated to monuments, covers mosaics of churches (three buildings in Litrakomi, Kiti and Livadia). Further continues with a much longer list (58 buildings) of painted churches in 42 towns and cities. Brief explanations about the location of the church in each village will help to find it on the terrain, which is useful for those who wish to see frescoes first hand. The history of each monument is described in detail, along with an extensive description of the surviving paintings. Most illustrations are colored and black-and-white photos of monuments, their mosaics and frescos; a smaller number - architectural plans and a map of Cyprus with marked settlements, mentioned in the book.
