Sextus Julius Frontin (circa 35 g. - 103 g.) Excellently showed himself as a Roman military commander: he commanded a cavalry detachment in the army of Gneya Korbulon during his campaigns in Armenia in 58 AD 64; was a commander in Germany and Britain, in the latter in 76, crushed the insurrection of the Silurians (in modern Wales) and built a road through their lands, he was replaced in 78 AD by Agricola. In the same way, Frontin occupied high civil offices: in 70 BC the praetor of Rome, three times he was consul in 73, 98 and 100, in 86 - 87 years. became the proconsul of Asia Minor, in 97 he was appointed to the distinguished position of curator of aqueducts in Rome. Frontin wrote several works, but only two of his works were preserved: "Strategemy" in 4 books (written after 84) and "On the aqueducts of the city of Rome" in 2 books (written in 97 - 98's). In the first work, examples of military tricks of ancient and modern warlords of different peoples are presented. In the second work - the most valuable material about the supply of water in the city of Rome. The book contains Latin texts and English translation, articles and pointers, as well as maps and plans.
