The long-awaited authorized biography of the richest man on the planet, Warren Buffett, will appear on the US bookshelves on September 29. This is the first biography of a billionaire, which was written with his personal assistance.
The author of the 976-page book "Snowball: Warren Buffett and Business Life" became Alice Schroeder, former insurance analyst at Morgan Stanley.
Alice first met Buffett when she worked at Morgan Stanley, studying the company of the legendary businessman Berkshire Hathaway. According to the publisher (company Bantam Dell Publishing Group), Schroeder spent "thousands of hours" with a billionaire who told her about his life and career, provided access to documents and introduced friends.
The biography was supposed to come out in May of this year on the eve of the annual shareholders meeting of Berkshire Hathaway, but its exit was postponed. The title of the book is taken from the statement of Warren Buffett: "Life is like a snowman, it's really important to find wet snow and a very high hill." Previously, Alice's book was called "The Snowball: How Warren Buffett Gained Friends, Wisdom and Wealth."
Since 1965, Warren Buffett led the investment company Berkshire Hathaway, turning it into a conglomerate valued at $ 179 billion and comprising at least 76 companies. They sell a wide variety of goods and services, including car insurance, ice cream and underwear, and invest money in stocks. According to Forbes, Buffett's fortune is $ 62 billion, but the billionaire intends to transfer most of his capital to charity, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
