Brüel & Kjær, a world-leading manufacturer of sound and vibration equipment and software, has released an updated Pulse 21.0. The latest release of PULSE includes new software and applications for a range of industries, and enhancements in PULSE Reflex and LabShop. In this release, we have focused on performance, because speed and stability is key when measuring and analyzing data.

New Products and Features
- LAN-XI Front Panel for Testing of Headphones, Small Loudspeakers and Receivers
UA-2118-022 front panel is now supported in the PULSE software. UA-2118-022 is a dedicated analogue interface for headphone testing allowing simultaneous testing of left and right headphones.
- PULSE LabShop and Data Recorder Type 7708
PULSE LabShop time data recorder now supports metadata when recording in the .pti file format. The metadata definition is imported from PULSE Reflex and allows you to make time data recordings in PULSE LabShop and store the recording file along with associated metadata.
- PULSE Array Acoustics Suite (AAS)
PULSE Reflex Array Analysis Type 8781 is now included in PULSE Acoustic Test Consultant Type 7761. This means that you can use PULSE Reflex to make array measurements and then perform the post- processing in AAS.
- PULSE Sound Power
PULSE Sound Power of Fans Type 7886 is a software application that supports sound power determination of fans and enables manufacturers to comply with national and international regulations for noise emission quantities.
- PULSE Acoustic Material Testing in a Tube Type 7758
The results for each sample can be named in the Measurement Control window and the calculations are copied to the Function Organizer. This allows multiple results to be stored in a single project.

One enhancement is the availability of a comparison function between two different cars. This powerful tool can compare the contribution of different parts, for example the muffler and tyre. The reference signals, such as vehicle and engine RPM can be synchronized with the comparison of the contribution.

PULSE Signal Player can most easily be run by using the macro toolbar to create a Visual Basic macro.

AAS-3822 21.0.0.669 Fixed: An upgrade to the graphical library software (from TGS, version 9.7.2), enables users with new computers to view annotations, pictures, etc., in Intensity Mapping.
LAB-5053 21.0.0.618 Fixed: Resolved issue of system crash when loading PULSE project.
LAB-5206 21.0.0.618 Fixed: Support for charge input using 12-ch. LAN-XI Module Type 3053.
AAS-3727 21.0.0.618 Fixed: Updated intensity scaling when using FAS + CLEAN-SC with spherical array so that intensity output represents radiation only within typical +/-60 degree cone. The pressure contribution is now derived from array centre without the array.
AAS-3763 21.0.0.618 Fixed: Contour map now shows correct directions, both right and left sides.
