An interesting yet irritating read, Hunter's The Celtic Way of Evangelism -
How Christianity Can Reach the West...Again argues that Western Christians
have been secularized into "neo-barbarians" beyond the reach (i.e. ministry)
of church leaders who are themselves in denial of secularization (since they
lack evangelical fervor and charismatic appeal). His answer is evangelical
mission work styled after the early Irish Christians (whose background is
the very Latin church history he claims contributed to seculariztion in the
first place). Hunter's concept has merit, but his explanation is only in
a nebulous first draft form.
