The Ansys Composite Cure Simulation (ACCS) allows you to simulate the thermal-chemical reaction and to predict the development of residual stresses as well as process induced distortions during the curing of composite parts. The main focus is on composite manufacturing yet the same principles apply to the curing of unreinforced thermosetting polymers.

Ansys Composite Cure Simulation (ACCS) was developed by LMAT in response to the growing market demand for a reliable simulation platform to support manufacturing and tooling engineers throughout the process design cycle. The platform has been comprehensively validated and subsequently used to compensate millions of pounds worth of rib, spar and wing-skin tools across the European aerospace and wind energy industries, where previously the only method of achieving parts of sufficiently high tolerance to meet strict aerospace assembly rules was to re-machine finished tooling after molding the first part.

The ACCS is fully integrated into the ANSYS Workbench environment. The composite material data necessary for the cure simulation are stored in the engineering data module. Connectivity to Ansys Composite Pre-Post (ACP) as well as other ANSYS products enabled seamless exchange of simulation and process design data. The connection with the ANSYS DesignXplorer enables advanced design optimization of material and manufacturing process parameters. Seamless transfer of the lay-up information from the existing CATIA and FIBERSIM models is also available through the HDF5 format.

This video demonstrates the ANSYS Composite Cure Simulation (ACCS) tool that enables the analysis of curing processes (for example, those used for composite structures). This video demonstrates a cure simulation of a rib used in aerospace applications. Layered composite materials modelling and simulating composite structures with ANSYS Composite PrepPost with an efficient workflow.

Founded in 1970, ANSYS employs nearly 3,000 professionals, many of whom are expert M.S. and Ph.D.-level engineers in finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, electronics, semiconductors, embedded software and design optimization. Our exceptional staff is passionate about pushing the limits of world-class simulation technology so our customers can turn their design concepts into successful, innovative products faster and at lower cost. As a measure of our success in attaining these goals, ANSYS has been recognized as one of the world's most innovative companies by prestigious publications such as Bloomberg Businessweek and FORTUNE magazines.
