The Simcenter development team is pleased to announce the availability of Simcenter Flovent 2020.2. It’s fast and easy-to-use menu system is designed specifically for engineers involved in the design and optimization of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Simcenter Flovent 2020.2 Release Highlights - Date: December 2020 New Features
The following new features are available in this Simcenter Flovent software release.
Export Cell by Cell Results
- Available in analyze mode
- Accessed in two ways
. Right click object in Project Manager tree - System and Monitor Points not supported.

Preview Features
The following preview feature is available in this Simcenter Flovent software release.
Automatic creation of localized grid regions
- This feature uses the geometry (key points), user applied grid constraints and overall system grid settings to automatically create the localized regions. The automatic grid will obey such rules as ensuring that certain objects remain completely inside a single local region. If deemed necessary the feature will create nested regions. The system can be completely automatic or will interact with local grid regions manually set by the user – for example if local mesh has been applied to a library object.

Example 1. In combination with user selected objects with grid constraints applied.
- These then might be manually localized (left hand image). With the new automatic grid feature the software will apply the local grid regions automatically (right hand image).

Example 2. Consider a complex object that has been transferred from CAD and processed using MCAD Bridge.
- The process to set up local grid regions on this object to capture of key features, say maintaining thermal integrity, while balancing the requirements of optimum grid quality and efficient solving can be time consuming. The automatic grid will take into account areas where fine mesh is required by adding local regions while maintain coarser grid where acceptable.

At the 2019 Siemens Media & Analyst Conference in New York, Siemens PLM Software announced that it is changing its name to Siemens Digital Industries Software. The company explains that the change reflects not only its position inside the core operating company, Siemens Digital Industries, but also its evolution from product lifecycle management (PLM) software to a broad provider of industrial software and services for digitalization.
