National Instruments is pleased to announce the availability of DIAdem 2021, the tool of software designed specifically so that engineers and scientists are more efficient when locating, inspect, analyse and inform on the data of measure.
New Features in DIAdem 2021 - Date: April 2021 General
- The DIAdem icon in the Windows Start menu shows the major version number.
- Right-click the buttons to scroll through the tabs in VIEW, REPORT, and SCRIPT to quickly select the tab you want.
DIAdem NAVIGATOR, DataFinder, Data Portal
- In the Data Portal, you can pin new channels automatically.
- In the Data Portal, you can create video channels by specifying the path to the video file.
- DIAdem installs a new DataPlugin that allows you to search for video files in NAVIGATOR and drag and drop them into the Data Portal to create video channels.
DIAdem VIEW
- With the new "Bird's Eye View" display type in DIAdem VIEW, you can display radar data, including road course, lane, object list, and sensor fields of view, from a bird's eye perspective. You can synchronize this data with GPS data and the detected objects in the video. Use the playback functions of VIEW to start the bird's eye view display and play back the detected objects, the associated measurement data, and the videos concurrently, or move the cursor to a specific point in time.
- As in DIAdem REPORT, you do not need to specify the x-channel in the VIEW display types if the y-channel is an xy-channel.
- The coordinates dialog box has been extended with functions for positioning the cursor.
- You can now edit all settings of a video in the redesigned video settings dialog box.
- In the video display mode, you can also use the new video channels.
- You can move or copy VIEW areas using drag and drop. Moving or copying across different worksheets is also possible. When you move or copy an area and position it behind the last worksheet, you can create a new worksheet at the same time.
- You can create a video area by dragging and dropping a video channel onto an empty area, or replace an existing video in a video area by dragging a video channel onto that area.
DIAdem Script
- The DIAdem Python environment also supports Python version 3.8.
- You can specify an external Python IDE and use it to edit Python scripts.
- The automatically generated header of new Python files contains commands to activate the external debugger. See the help for a detailed description of how to set up the external debugger.
- When creating new scripts, you can choose whether you prefer VBS or Python as the script language.
- The short code snippets of the help now show Python code as well as VBS code.
- There are new methods for moving or copying VIEW areas with a script.
- There are new methods for copying curves in DIAdem VIEW with a script.
- The conversion functions for converting one channel type to another have been renamed so that they all start with "ChnConvert", for example, ChnConvertNumericToTime, ChnConvertNumericToWaveform, or ChnConvertTextToAssignment.
- The dialog box for selecting files when testing analysis automation procedures for SystemLink TDM is now resizable to allow the use of long file names.
Dialog Editor
- The slider control provides you with a new input tool in your user dialogs.
Preview Features
Preview features give an outlook on features in future versions. The functions to be unlocked are still under development and the user interface, the API, or the scope of functions may change. Enable this function in the Settings»DIAdem Settings» Preview Features dialog box.
- The DIAdem Python environment also supports Python version 3.9.
- DIAdem supports complex channels. You can load and save complex channels. You can convert numeric channels to complex channels and vice versa.
- The Bus Log Converter also supports the TTTech TTL format.
DIAdem 2021 Bug Fixes - Date: Apr 21, 2021 1124692 REPORT: DIAdem does not display all curves in a 2D axis system with expanding curves if you have selected the axis system setting "N systems".
1134907 REPORT: Differential characteristic diagrams may not display axis and point labels if you use custom scaling.
1136830 REPORT: The character spacing of superscript and subscript characters is not as expected.
1140354 If you use the command PNo with a channel that contains NoValues, DIAdem displays an error message.
1145043 REPORT: The characteristic diagram does not show minimum and maximum if the x- or y-values contain NoValues.
1145432 REPORT: The Copy and Remove methods for ReportObjects in certain cases delete incorrect objects.
1146480 REPORT: Objects can no longer be scaled with the mouse once they have been dragged open beyond the workspace.
1149085 When using the Save command in the script editor, there is no error message if the file cannot be saved to a read-only folder.
1156161 REPORT: When saving PDFs, DIAdem does remember the output path.
1159618 REPORT: The printout could be incorrect if you change the screen resolution while DIAdem is running.
1170948 The DirLstWrite command can create an acess violation if files are added to the folder while the file list is being created.
1172165 For measurements with a cDAQ module, DIAdem stores the serial number of the cDAQ chassis in the channel properties instead of the serial number of the module.
1173138 The configuration dialog of an analysis package in which you have activated a data filter terminates with an error message when you switch from a DataFinder to a DataStore.
1179032 When you create a VIEW layout and select a graphic or video file from another path, DIAdem does not save the layout in the original folder, but in the folder from which you loaded the graphic or video file.
1182243 Python DataPlugin crashes if a file has no channel groups, or if a group has no channel, or if the "Plugin" class does not exist.
1183276 If you apply the Numeric Channels <-> Time Channels function to a formula channel, DIAdem creates a time formula channel instead of raising an error message.
1200337 The methods Move and Remove for Sheets in REPORT work incorrectly, which can lead to an incorrect display of sheets.
1203186 When embedding images in a DIAdem report, the original path is saved in the report.
1206388 With linear mapping such as ChnMapLinCalc it may occur that DIAdem calculates a wrong value in case of NoValues at positions where the x-channel changes very much.
1209378 When resampling a waveform channel, DIAdem does not create the correct start time and offset to the output waveform channel.
1210331 In rare cases, the VBS script editor hangs when you use CodeCompletion for external objects.
1211351 When using linear mapping with the mapping mode "Spike", DIAdem replaces NoValues with "0".
1224668 When you export a REPORT layout to PowerPoint, you get a distorted image in PowerPoint.
1234097 VIEW: When using the band cursor, the automatic scaling of the y-axis may be incorrect.
1243977 ANALYSIS: Interactive execution of "Order Analysis for Bode Display" raises an error if you use a waveform channel for the signal channels.
1244758 The function ChnOrderBodeCalc (Order Analysis for Bode Display) causes an access violation if the number of signal channels does not match the number of channels with the pulse start times.
1269505 The Navigator.OnLoaded event is triggered when the NAVIGATOR DataFinder result columns are sorted.
1289114 VIEW: Dropping several hundred channels into a 2D axis system with the curve cursor on can be very slow.
1290881 VIEW: DIAdem may crash if you use a non-monotonically increasing y-channel in a contour plot.
1290884 VIEW: Under certain circumstances, DIAdem may calculate the wrong number of z-channels in a contour plot.
1295966 Bus Log Converter: If the payload size exceeds 24 Bytes in CANFD Frame using PCAN, some signals of the frame may be missing.
1310872 REPORT: If the data contains NoValues, DIAdem may draw the boundary curve of a characteristic diagram incorrectly.
1314874 REPORT: While exporting or printing a report, the value of the ActiveSheet property may reference a wrong sheet if REPORT is not open.
1330175 Calling the layout transfer from VIEW to REPORT causes an error if VIEW is not open.
1340815 REPORT: In a 2D axis system with expanding curves, DIAdem may not display all curves.
1343407 The function ChnQuantize returns an empty channel instead of an error message if the upper and lower limits are equal.
1365305 Memory leaks can occur when using the Excel Workbook object in DIAdem, which can cause issues when being used intensely, for instance in a loop.
1378701 The ANALYSIS function SRTMDownloadGetStatistics (Download SRTM data) no longer works because the corresponding website (https://urs.earthdata.nasa.gov/users/new) has changed its behavior and now requires user login.
