PTC is pleased to announce the availability new version of Creo View 8.0.0.0. This software enables you to view and interrogate ECAD designs and 3D MCAD products and models, assemblies, drawings, images, and documents. You can collaborate on products of different information types without the native applications.
What’s New in Creo View 8.0.0.0 Installation Updates
Creo View installer is now updated to utilize Microsoft Install (MSI) for Windows and a Self-Extracting Zip for Linux installations.
What’s New in Creo View MCAD
Part Feature References in Markups
Markups, such as notes with leader lines, can now reference part features, like surfaces or edges, with each leader line. Using quick updates, it is now easier to update and maintain multiple references to the note.
By viewing markups created as part of a design review, you can now more clearly recognize the associated features that the feedback is referencing. This allows designers to address feedback faster.
PDF Viewing Support for Layers and Hyperlinks
The native PDF viewer now supports viewing and interacting with layers associated with PDF. You can seamlessly navigate hyperlinks in PDF documents to both internal locations, such as other pages, and external sources, such as websites.
Improves work with the native PDF viewer.
Interference Improvement for Approximate Mode Volume Calculation
Running interference detection in approximate mode can now fall back on accurate calculation to identify interference volumes.
Save significant time by using the approximate interference calculation without sacrificing the ability to assess the severity of interferences volumes.
What’s New in Creo View ECAD
Optionally Disable Reference Designator Merging
Tags for datum entities like coordinate systems, axes, and other entities can now have their display controlled separate from the datum entities.
By default, fractured reference designators, such as RefDes that are used on multiple sheets but refer to a single component, are merged. This options allows users to use a naming convention for grouping components, such as LED1-01, LED1–02 and LED1–03, without merging the reference designators.

Creo Parametric: Inseparable Assemblies and Embedded Component Support
Creo Parametric 8.0 Inseparable Assemblies and Embedded Components can now be published to the Creo View format.
You can now conveniently manage all the components in a single file embedded in the assembly. Downstream consumers can still view the components in Creo View, as if they were a separately managed part.
Creo Parametric: Convert Items Hidden by Default Layer State but Activated in View States
Conversion of combined states from Creo Parametric now includes content that is hidden in the default layer state, even when hidden items conversion is turned off. This happens if the contents are displayed in one of the combined states.
You can simplify and reduce the Creo View file size by choosing not to convert hidden items, but still have this content available if you choose to expose these items in a combined state.
Creo Elements Direct Modeling: Performance Improvements
The Creo Elements Direct Modeling (CEDM) adapter is improved to utilize the same CEDM session for publishing subsequent jobs. This update provides the same worker infrastructure benefits that characterize the other adapters.
Overall publishing time improvements, with better logging and worker session management functionalities.
