Flame on the AWS cloud
You can now experience the Autodesk Flame Family of products on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. This new way of consuming Flame acts as an alternative to using on-premise workstations. This brings huge gains to you as AWS offers a scalable and secure environment with a wide selection of compute and storage services. Leveraging Flame on the cloud comes with several production benefits. Flame on the cloud allows you to add and remove capacity in crunch times, without the need to add more hardware to your local site. You gain access to powerful modern hardware without the capital expense of purchasing it. By running Flame on the cloud, you can connect virtually anywhere to a Flame instance and be up and running in minimal time and contributing to your project. Autodesk has several charter production testers who have successfully completed projects in this new way of working.
Enhanced HDR user interface
To support increasing demand for HDR workflows, a new setting optimizes Flame’s user interface (UI) on HDR monitors, allowing artists using on-premise workstations to accurately view and manipulate vibrant, high-quality imagery. You can now see the viewport picture and background interface together in HDR fidelity on HDR capable monitors
Improved Animation Editor
The Animation Editor panel has been redesigned to allow you to manipulate animation curves with enriched animation workflows. The terminology for certain drop-down menus and buttons have also been updated to industry standards such as: Channels to Curves, and Tracks to Dope Sheet. Framing and filtering animated curves are also more intuitive and the selection of points in complex graphs has been fine-tuned so you can work more swiftly.
Apple M series support
Flame 2023 and 2022.3 support Apple M series devices via Rosetta 2, offering you new hardware options and improved performance.
More capabilities
- You can enjoy updated camera RAW formats like RED, Blackmagic RAW, and Sony X-OCN from VENICE 2 6K and 8K cameras.
- You can now convert your free Flame, Flare or Flame Assist trial to a paid subscription directly in-product. Furthermore, those using a trial or educational version of Flame, Flare or Flame Assist now have access to H.264 video encoding and AAC audio, eliminating media format limitations.
- Note that Flame Family version 2023 will not run on CentOS 8.2. You can run the Flame Family of products on Rocky Linux 8.5.
