Cadence Celsius EC Solver 2023.1 HF1 | 1.4 Gb
The Future Facilities, a business Cadence, is pleased to announce the availability of Cadence Celsius Thermal Solver 2023.1 HF1 is a complete electrical-thermal co-simulation solution for the full hierarchy of electronic systems from ICs to physical enclosures.

Celsius EC Solver by Cadence Design Systems is the new name for 6SigmaET by Future Facilities Ltd.. Celsius EC Solver 2023.1 follows on directly from 6SigmaET Release 17.1, so all known and fixed issues that applied to 6SigmaET Release 17.1 also apply to Celsius EC Solver 2023.1.

Issues Resolved in Celsius EC Solver2023.1 Hot Fix 1 GUI-18488
Copying and pasting subassemblies into another model, or adding subassemblies to another model via the Library, could cause unexpected behaviour in some cases. This has now been resolved.
GUI-18482
When hosting FlexLM software licenses on a local machine, only one GUI instance could be opened per EC_Solver_G feature. This has now been fixed.
GUI-18527
We have resolved an issue where certain 3D mouse operations could be reversed when using the Enhanced View.
GUI-18225
The progress window could sometimes become frozen when retrieving jobs from the Control Centre. This issue has now been fixed.
GUI-18198
When importing two PCBs via ODB++ using the All Simplified layers option, if the files had identical layer names then the layer images could be overwritten during the import. Layer images are now prefixed with the ODB++ file name during import, which resolves this issue.
SOLVER-5703
We have fixed an issue where, in some cases, results objects would affect the simulation grid of a model.
SOLVER-5704
We have resolved an issue where 'speckling' of lower values could appear in some result planes.
SOLVER-5700
We have resolved an issue where, in rare cases, 3D grid control objects could cause the simulation to fail to converge.
SOLVER-5699
We have fixed an issue where, in rare cases, the calculated pressure drop over some flow network objects could be slightly inaccurate.
GUI-18197
We have fixed an issue that prevented users from selecting a time step from which to continue a transient
solution.
GUI-18199
We have resolved an issue where, after importing an ODB file and creating an alternate, PCB layers could incorrectly be deleted.
SOLVER-5632
In some cases, error checking could run for extended time periods if solids with no attached material overlapped other objects in the model. This has now been resolved.
GUI-18217
We have resolved an issue where identically-named PCB layers in an ODB++ file could overwrite each other on import in some cases.
GUI-18218
When converting a solid to an intelligent object using Commander in a model version or alternate, the objects in the baseline version of the model could be incorrectly changed. This issue has now been resolved.
GUI-18222
We have fixed an issue where the Calculated Weight value for a heatsink in the View Matrix window could fail to update.
GUI-18196
We have improved the stability of the software when adding a streamline plot to a model which was solved with Solution Type set to Flow Only in solution control.
GUI-18197
We have fixed an issue that prevented users from selecting a time step from which to continue a transient solution.

6SigmaET is the leading electronics thermal simulation software with state-of-the-art intelligence, automation, and accuracy. Designed by Future Facilities for thermal engineers in the electronics industry, 6SigmaET uses advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to create accurate models of electronic equipment that allow engineers to test their designs through thermal simulations and mitigate any and all risks.
The Cadence Celsius EC Solver technology (formerly 6SigmaET by Future Facilities) is designed specifically to enable electronic system designers to address today’s most challenging thermal/electronics cooling management problems quickly and accurately. The Celsius EC Solver utilizes a powerful computational engine and meshing technology that enables designers to model and analyze complex designs to not only reduce the risks of product failures but also to optimize thermal solutions to maximize performance.

Cadence Celsius Thermal Solver – Cadence Design Systems

In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton chats with CT Kao of Cadence Design Systems about how the Celsius Thermal Solver can help detect and mitigate thermal issues early in the design process.
