The Official Norwegian Sweater of the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
Dale's designs are a harmonious blend of traditional and modern elements.
The exquisite design of the official Norwegian sweater of the SLOC reflects
the history and scenery of the state of Utah, incorporating such elements as
evergreens, sea gulls, snowcapped mountains and crisp snowflakes.
The colorful borders on the sleeves and body were inspired by the basket
weavings of Utah's indigenous peoples, while the sweater's rich colors
reflect Utah's dramatic landscape. In addition to these locally inspired
design elements, the Olympic flame and the people joining hands closely tie
the sweater to the celebration and spirit of the XIX Olympic Winter Games.
The Olympic patch is elegantly incorporated into the overall sweater design
in colors that are as striking as the sweater's own palette.
The stylish garments in the book have been created to be worn by all Olympic
enthusiasts around the world. The specially designed patch with the Salt Lake
2002 logo and Olympic rings was created for these sweaters. The sweater
designs themselves were inspired by Utah's natural beauty and culture, then
Norwegian and Olympic elements added.
Dale of Norway is an official licensee for the 19th Olympic Winter Games in
Salt Lake City, Utah.
