SPSS Web-enabled products are based on a set of shared components known as
the SPSS Web Deployment Framework (SWDF). The framework provides flexible
architecture that supports interactive data reporting and analysis over
the World Wide Web. SPSS Web technology makes it possible to publish
content to the Web and then to view, interact with, and analyze it using a
standard browser.
SWDF.
The framework provides the infrastructure that takes care of security,
content management, and the delivery and presentation of content on the
Web. The framework consists of server components and database
components.
Web-enabled product beans.
Browser-side functionality, such as manipulating and analyzing content,
is supported by Web deployment beans. For example, SmartViewer Web
Server uses the framework to distribute dynamic tables over the Web,
while WhatIf? Web delivers live forecast models. In technical terms,
each of these products consists of one or more beans that provide
content-specific functionality in the Web users browser.
