New and Improved Features for 2012
- Redesigned forms. Sales forms have been redesigned with a Lion-inspired interface. New customer history panel summarizes customer information for easy review including open invoices, open balances, notes etc. See the list of transactions for faster browsing.
- Online banking renaming rules and add multiple. Save time adding transactions from your financial institution to QuickBooks by batch entering them instead of adding transactions one at a time. QuickBooks automatically creates rules to rename payees downloaded from your financial institution. You can then batch enter transactions easily.
- Improved search. Save time with better search functionality. You can now search for names, transaction types, amounts, dates etc. Use filters to refine results. Quickly access recent or saved searches.
- Progress invoicing. QuickBooks allows you to invoice for projects in phases. You can now invoice by line item or percentage of the estimate. You can track how much has been invoiced and what’s left with the Job Progress Invoices vs. Estimates report.

- Date fields will now blank out if All Dates is selected as the Date Range

- The correct template name will now show after replacing the existing template
- The current form template name will now show if user cancels the form by choosing Revert from the Edit menu
- The Create Statements window now retains its screen position when closed and reopened
- The New Company Setup splash screen now shows 2012
- The QuickBooks.log file now shows the date and time a Verify or Rebuild was run
- Verify and Rebuild will now complete when certain types of data damage are present in the file

QuickBooks:
- Mac OS X v10.6.7 (Snow Leopard) or v10.7 (Lion)
- At least an Intel processor, Core 2 Duo or higher recommended
- Multiuser: Intel Core 2 Duo or higher processor to run server
- At least 1 Gb RAM, 2 Gb RAM recommended
- 210mb of available disk space.
- Use Intuit Checks if you plan to print checks. Canadian Image Ready Cheques are not supported.
Integration / compatibility requirements:
- Export report data requires Apple Numbers '09; Microsoft Excel 2008 or 2011 for Mac.
- E-mail requires Apple Mail, Microsoft Entourage 2008 or Outlook 2011 for Mac.
- Backup to MobileMe requires paid MobileMe account available separately from Apple, Inc.
- iCal, iChat, Address Book are included in Mac OS X installs from Apple, Inc.
