software dedicated to the creation of panoramas,
virtual tours and gigapixel images. Based on
Autopano Pro software and including all its
featues, Autopano Giga goes far beyond the creation
of panoramas : stitch your images in 360 degrees,
export them into Flash virtual tours, link the tours
together... so many possibilities to present in a
new way all the photos and places you want to
share. Resolution matters? Autopano Giga also
enables you to stitch in a record time several
hundred or thousand images to create photos of
several gigapixels.
With Autopano Giga, you can:

What's new in Autopano Giga 2.5?
Detection engine: Kolor Autopano Synapse
Autopano Giga 2.5 has a new Synapse detection
engine, fully multi-threaded for an impressive speed
of detection, especially for the stitching of
several dozens or hundreds of images. This feature
was checked and validated by our partner Intel.
Optimization engine: Kolor Autopano Neurone
After the detection, the new Neurone optimization
engine takes the results of the Synapse and applies
on it the exclusive Autopano algorithms, especially
the automatic color and exposure correction, for
perfectly homogeneous panoramas, without seams.
The rendering engine: Kolor Autopano Cortex
The final stage in the creation of a panorama is
what we call the rendering: the creation of the
final panorama in full resolution into the desired
format. The Cortex rendering engine integrates an
enormous range of new features, especially a better
correction of the moving objects, the HDR integrated
support, a better use of the available processing
power, an many new parameters.
New interface
Autopano Giga 2.5 has a new look! The dominant dark
grey highlights your images as never before. The
software ergonomics have also been enhanced.
Speed
Autopano Giga 2.5 is up to 6 times faster than the
previous version (2.0.9).
Exposure fusion
Autopano Giga 2.5 integrates the exposure fusion.
The application chooses the best colors of your
bracketed images in order to automatically provide a
natural and balanced image. Autopano Giga also
allows to tune some fusion settings to improve the
color correction.
New automatic color correction
The color and exposure correction was entirely
revised. It is much easier now to choose the way the
colors are blended. Get panoramas that are
homogeneous in colors.
Improved correction of the moving objects
When a person or an object is moving, a classic
image blending creates ghosts in the overlapping
area. Autopano Giga 2.5 includes a new anti-ghost
blender also applicable to gigapixel images. It is a
world first.
Manual editor of control points
In difficult cases, Autopano Giga already proposed a
control points editor allowing to force the
application to add links into the areas you define.
The 2.5 version goes even further, allowing the
manual adding, point by point, of the links between
neighboring images. There is no more reason to miss
a stitch, even a complex one.
Multiple viewpoints
A real innovation, the management of the multiple
viewpoints allows to assemble images that were not
taken from the same spot. This allows a bigger
tolerance for handheld shootings, but it mainly
allows to stitch photos shot linearly (aerial
photography for example).
Plug-ins
Autopano Giga 2.5 now has a plug-ins module; these
small accessories improve some parts of the
software. There are currently 3 plug-ins:
Neutralhazer® to remove undesired haze, a plug-in
supporting Adobe Lens Profile to correct the lens
defects (see hereunder) and a plug-in to export
image groups to third-party software.
Neutralhazer reveals the landscapes
Autopano Giga 2.5 offers a strong tool that removes
the haze from your photos: a function based on the
latest scientific researches in the field of images.
The application removes the white veil that covers
certain panoramas of landscapes, not only by
increasing the contrast but also by analyzing each
pixel in order to reveal the colors.
Adobe Lens Profile support
A plug-in integrated into Autopano Giga takes into
account the calibration profiles of Adobe Lens
Profile Creator and automatically corrects the
distortions, the chromatic aberrations and the
vignetting according to your lens model.
