With this tutorial we will start with an interesting topic that usually is not covered so deeply all around the world wide web : “How to create a Twister with 3ds max 2010″. This tutorial will be split in two parts to have the right amount of time to cover all the stuffs and technique we need to discover together.
In Part 1, we’ll talk in general about a twister checking some images and videos as references, then we’ll discover theoretically how we have to approach to the problem and how we have to split the scene in layers to work on every single element separated by the other one.
In Part 2, we’ll take a look at additional features to achieve final result. We’ll see how to add particles captured by the twister’s wind, and how to create main twister body using different ways. We’ll take a look at the basic illumination also to understand how we can illuminate it for final render process.
In Part 3, we'll continue creating a twister.
