DLUBAL Composite Beam 8.01.0022 Multilingual €30 buy download
COMPOSITE-BEAM allows for the design of continuous composite beams according to ENV 1994-1-1:1992-10 (EC 4 is in preparation). COMPOSITE-BEAM is based on the bidirectional communication between RSTAB and its add-on modules. However, to use COMPOSITE-BEAM, no RSTAB license is required (stand-alone operation is possible).

Features

-Single-span and continuous beams with definable boundary conditions
-Automatic determination of effective cross-sections
-Free arrangement of construction supports for construction stage
-Free definition of concentrated, linear and linearly variable loads as fixed and variable loads with specification of concrete age on loading
-Freely definable construction loads as well as moving construction loads
-Automatic load combination
-Calculation of cross-section properties according to method 1 or 2
-Calculation of elastic internal forces with RSTAB
-Redistribution of moments
-Design for bending and shear force resistance with interaction
-Determination of required shear connectors and their distribution
-Design of longitudinal shear force resistance
-Output of governing support reactions for construction and composite stage including loads of construction supports
-Lateral-torsional buckling analysis
-Analysis for limitation of crack widths
-Check of natural frequency

Input
You can define single-span as well as continuous beams with or without cantilevers when entering the structural system.
Furthermore, it is possible to specify different span lengths with definable boundary conditions (supports, releases) as well as any construction support and moment release in the construction stage.

For the modeling of a complete cross-section you can create typical composite beam sections on the basis of steel girders (I-sections) with solid concrete flanges, precast plates, trapezoidal sheets or tapered solid ceilings. It is also possible to grade cross-sections by means of beam lengths, optionally with concrete encasement. Entering additional transverse reinforcements for trapezoidal sheetings, profile stiffeners as well as angled or circular openings in the web is made easier by descriptive pictures. When entering loads COMPOSITE-BEAM applies the self-weight automatically. In addition, it is possible to consider fixed and variable loads with specifying the concrete age at the beginning of loading for creeping, and to define single, uniform and trapezoidal loads freely. Furthermore, a load combination from information about the individual load cases is created automatically by COMPOSITE-BEAM.

Design
When you determine the internal forces, you can choose between method of calculation 1 (uncracked along complete beam length) and 2 (cracking over internal supports). In both cases, it is possible to take account of a constant effective width of the concrete chord along the entire span length according to ENV 1994-1-1, 4.2.2.1 as well as a redistribution of moments. Internal forces for the design of shear connectors can only be determined by an elastic calculation of internal forces with the analysis core of RSTAB. (No license for RSTAB required!) During the calculation, the effective cross-section values are fully automatically determined at the respective points of time taking into account creep and shrinkage. The structural systems are created as member system in the RSTAB user interface including all boundary conditions and loadings. Thus, a reliable calculation of internal forces also with the ideal cross-section properties is ensured.

Results
The results are shown in tables where they are clearly arranged and sorted by required designs to allow for an easy orientation and validation.

Designs in the ultimate limit state:

-Bending and shear force resistance with interaction
-Partial shear connecting of ductile and non-ductile connecting elements
-Determination of required shear connectors and their distribution
-Calculation of longitudinal shearing stress
-Design of connection with shear connectors and of connector perimeter
-Output of governing support reactions for construction and composite stage including loads of construction supports
-Lateral-torsional buckling analysis (for continuous beams and cantilevered girders)
-Check of cross-section classes as well as of plastic and elastic cross-section properties

Designs in the serviceability limit state:

-Deflection analysis
-Deformations and initial precambering determined with ideal cross-section properties from creep and shrinkage
-Behavior regarding vibrations (analysis of eigenfrequencies)
-Crack width control
-Determination of support forces
-All program data is documented in a clearly-arranged printout report providing many graphical options for data organization. The report will be refreshed automatically in case of modifications. COMPOSITE-BEAM is a stand-alone program and runs without RSTAB license.
