In this new tutorial series focused on product modeling and rendering, we’ll create the Tassimo T-65 Coffee Machine and Espresso Maker from Bosch. Starting in 3d Studio Max we’ll use a few simple blueprint images to do a block-out of the base, and then begin the process of breaking down and refining the model using more advanced poly modeling techniques to create the final High-res asset.
In this new tutorial series focused on product modeling and rendering, we’ll create the Tassimo T-65 Home Brewing Station from Bosch. Starting in 3d Studio Max we’ll use a few simple blueprint images to do a block-out of the base, and then begin the process of breaking down and refining the model using more advanced poly modeling techniques to create the final High-res asset.
In part 2 of the series, we’ll continue blocking out the main sections of the Tassimo T-65 Home Brewing Station and then begin separating out the various elements and panels for final adjustments, topology cleanup and smoothing.
In part 3 of the series, we’ll continue to refine the overall shape of the main components and do additional mesh cleanup to finalize some of the elements. This includes removing unneeded edges, edge termination techniques and adding supporting geometry to ensure correct smoothing. In the later stages of part 3, we’ll also construct one of the Tassimo’s most difficult pieces. This section focuses on seamlessly connecting one cylindrical mesh to another and some ways this can be achieved using a combination of cutting, snapping and welding.
In part 4 of the series, we’ll continue working on the T-Disc section of the machine and tackle a series of complex cuts to create the necessary holes for the spout, screws and LED lights. This will once again involve seamlessly attaching multiple meshes together to create a single uniform surface, as well as re-working edge topology and adding the necessary supporting geometry in preparation for subdivision.
In last part of the Tassimo T-65 series, we’ll begin work on the cup stand portion of the machine and create the inner and outer cylindrical pieces, as well as the grating detail. From there it’s onto the front panel sections, were we’ll make the necessary holes for the LED screen and power button, and then finish the panels off by adding supporting edges in preparation for subdivision. Finally we’ll wrap things up on the front, by creating the brew cycle indicator and power switch.
